Category-5 wiring If your hotel is cabled with Ethernet Cat5 cabling our system is ready to 'plug-and-play' with your wiring. We can install cat5 cabling throughout your hotel with connection points available as and when required; however due to wireless and VDSL (see below) technologies now available this is not often a preferred alternative due to large disruption and high amount of labour time.

Wireless Technology We are able to offer hotels the opportunity to offer broadband to their bedrooms and public area using wireless technology, so there is no need to cable to individual rooms. This technology allows laptops to connect to the Broadband connection without any wires. Whether the guest is on their bed, desk, or in a conference room they can access the wireless Broadband connection with ease.

At Hotel Broadband we have years of experience at installing wireless access throughout hotels – covering an entire hotel with no “weak” or “black-spots” requires advanced knowledge of wireless networks and how the individual access points interact.

We always will check the signal within each bedroom and conference to ensure that guests have a good reliable signal with which they can connect to the Broadband system on. As a policy when we design a wireless network we require a much higher signal level to be present throughout compared with many of our competitors.

For this reason we will install and propose more wireless access points than many of our competitors and we're proud of this fact. The reason why we have such a good reputation with our installations and users is that our strong coverage throughout means that guests enjoy a reliable connection experience. On completion we will have a complete graphical representation of the signal level throughout your hotel.

As market leaders in this industry we are already being asked to act as consultants for poor installations – invariably the major problem is a poorly configured wireless networks.

All the equipment that is used in our wireless Broadband installation conforms to 802.11 worldwide wireless standard and is certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. New laptops are now being sold with wireless functionality installed including Intel's Centrino Mobile Technology which includes integrated wireless capability. For guests that do not have wireless compatibility you can loan out one of our wireless Ethernet adapters that needs no drivers installing on the guest laptop.

VDSL over existing telephone lines Using VDSL technology it is now possible to make use of your existing telephone lines to deliver Broadband to hotel bedrooms and conference rooms. Once VDSL equipment has been installed an ethernet connection port is made available in each room. Guests can then access the Broadband Internet connection using their standard Ethernet port on their laptop.

Yours guests security At Hotel Broadband we take the security of your guests laptops very seriously. As part of our installation service we will ensure that once a guest connect their laptop to the High Speed Internet connection, they can be assured that they are isolated on the network and it is not possible for another user, or hacker, to access their laptop.

Broadband entry point If you do not already have broadband at your hotel for your network we will install this for your as part of our installation service; we will also review your existing connection package for suitability.
